'Nasi Lemak'

Salam~~

My lesson today,

We covered the lesson about discharge instruction guideline,
the questions that the doctor should ask to the patient’s family and
how to diagnosis a disease based on the severe allergic reaction to the seafood or the seafood was poisonous; either analphylactic shock or scombroid toxicity……

Then we learned about the symptoms and signs regarding our respiratory systems; asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchiolitis, aspiration of foreign body and croup…

I enjoyed the class today because Miss Dila sponsored breakfast for us, 'nasi lemak'….so delicious, yummy….Thank you very much Miss!!!!
She also told us about her experience when she was involved in an accident, a tragic accident.....

Let me explain your diet

UNIT 2….

Hello everybody!!!

Firstly, sorry for posting in this blog late…last week I’m quite busy…..

I had learned about, let me explain your diet…..I learned about refine sugar in the diabetic diet. It is about the right number of calories in the patient’s diet and the diet should be well-balanced.

We practice a simple role play by partner about “two ways of regulating a diet” which are the substitution method and the plate method. These ways are suitable for a diabetic patient to apply.

A communication tip that we have learned today is:

“patients do not remember everything they are told. One way to help them remember is to repeat and summarize what you say at the end of the consultation. Another way is to have the patients themselves do this repetition and summary.”

Erm….today Miss Dila also stories to us about her “ex-boyfriend”….through her stories, I think that she has a high dream and clear visions about her life. Its make me think about myself too…huhu…I hope that Miss can get a right person for her and better that her “ex”…=)

never mind, the class continue as usual...
my lesson today....
so,what can I do for you??
when did the problem begin??
I learn the right way of how to treat patient when they come to us,
guideline for a doctor of how to take a medical history from patients....
huhu....I feel like I am a doctor (little bit)....
during the class, we did role-play...I like it as I can avoid from sleepy and not only listen to the lecturer......
2 ways communication-more effective ways of learning right??
basically the main topic of our lesson today is...
we must ask some open ended question not always ask such leading questions,
have a 'small talk' first with the patient to make them feel comfortable with us...
and take notes when we are interviewing the patients...
as a conclusion, I like my lesson today...huhu
that's all~~~~

Presentation...

yesterday (on wednesday)-presentation session...

NERVOUS!!!!
I'm very nervous to make a presentation today because actually i'm lack of confidence to speak english in front of the public......that's maybe one of the reasons why I become quiet passive during the lesson here compare at my secondary school....hmmmmm
but, I relieze that I must try to change it......
Ok...I will try....

Oh ya, about the presentation......everything is about culture..

the first group is about YOGA (indian culture)
I'm interest to know about it especially why "Majlis Fatwa Malaysia" band it as HARAM...
Yoga - refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines orianating in India....
It's also a form of exercise if does not related to hindu's God.....

then, MEDICINE MURDER (african culture)
what's that??
Medicine Murder involves the murder of someone in order to excise body parts for incorporation as ingredients into medicine.

ACUNPUNTURE (chinese culture)...
Its legend : soldier wounded by arrow
Acunpuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points.

SANGOMA (african culture)...
Who is Sangoma??
Sangoma is a healers of Southern Africa from Nguni tribe who are choosen by the 'Badimo'...

The philosophy is based on a belief in ancestral spirits. Both men and women can be called by the ancestors (a consequence of refusing the calling is usually ongoing physical or mental illness), though sangomas are usually female. A trainee sangoma (or twaza) trains under another sangoma, usually for a period of years, usually performing humbling service in the community.

At times in the training, and for the graduation, a ritual sacrifice of an animal is performed (usually a chicken, a goat or a cow). The spilling of this blood is meant to seal the bond between the ancestors and the sangoma.

TAI CHI (chinese culture)...
Both TaiChi & Qigong practice the same philosophy and principles of yin and yang. Yin and Yang are two aspects of one unity or holism, this unity is usually expressed in a diagram known as the Tai Chi Symbol.
The concept of Yin & Yang and its symbol are used in many other disciplines, including Chinese traditional medicine, geomancy and Taoist philosophy. In Chinese medicine for example Yin & Yang harmony is essential for good health, this is a concise but great principle that can manifest in countless situations in health, medicine and the natural world..

that's just a part of the presentation...

I enjoyed our lesson today as I get a lot of knowledge from those culture...
